Rally: One-two finish for Penzoil
NST, 25/5/2008
THE GSR Pennzoil Racing Team
registered a one-two finish in Round Two of the Malaysian
Rally Championship (MRC) in Perlis yesterday.
New Pennzoil team members Karamjit
Singh and co-driver Jagdev Singh finished first overall
and in the P12 class with a total time of two hours 06.37
seconds, ahead of teammates Gunaseelan and Jayaselan Rajoo,
who clocked 2:15.17s.
In third place was Sutan Mustaffa
Salihin and Ahmad Nadzrie Shuhaimi, who also won the P10
class.
The new Pennzoil team challenged the
dominance of the Perodua M5 Rally Team and showed how independent
teams could also make their mark in the championship.
Team manager and driver, Gunaseelan
said that the combination of two strong drivers gave the
team their best ever result.
"We had clocked some good times
yesterday (Saturday) and that gave us a comfortable lead
to start the second day on a more cautious note," said
Gunaseelan.
