Canadian Racing Team Takes On Malaysian Rally Challenge
Hong Kong: The plantations
of the Johor area of Malaysia are a long way from the snow
covered logging roads of Northern Ontario, but that's not
stopping the all Canadian team of Andrew Miller and Robin
Fleguel from taking on the racing challenge.
The Mega Motorsport team will
be trading in their snow shoes for flip flops (metaphorically
speaking) when they head to Malaysia on August 10 th to compete
in the 3 round of the Malaysian Rally Championship. With sponsorship
from Wowwee the world leader in robotic entertainment
products- Miller and Fleguel hope to make their mark as the
First All Canadian team to compete in this part of Asia's
growing motorsports scene. Mega Motorsport participates in
partnership with local outfit SR Motorsport.
Since moving to Hong Kong 2
years ago to take up an engineering position, driver and team
principal Andrew Miller has been itching to get back to Motorsport.
"I used to specialize in racing on ice and snow back
home. There's none of that here but I'm still looking forward
to the challenge!" He adds "I've been to Malaysia
several times now, including attending the first round of
the championship as an observer. I really like it and honestly
it's not that much different than the events back home. The
racing is good and the people are friendly, I'm really excited
about making this race my first chance to get back in the
driver's seat."
Robin Fleguel makes the trip
from Canada to participate alongside Andrew in the team's
Group N Subaru Impreza. "When Andrew called me up asking
if I was interested I didn't hesitate". The two have
partnered before, racking up several Canadian Championship
Wins.
