Bio:
Eli’s Australian Rally Championship debut came
at the 2003 NGK Rally Melbourne. In 2004, after taking
on rallying full time, Eli came away as the Victorian
Club Rally Champion.
Eli spent two years (2004 &
2005) developing his skills in the Subaru Rally Challenge
in an RS Impreza and finsihed the 2005 series with four
round wins, and as the Subaru Rally Challenge Champion.
Eli's speed was impressive enough for him to be selected
as a teammate to Cody Crocker in the Les Walkden Rallying
team for the Asia-Pacific Regional Rally Championship
in 2006.
Chris Murphy joined him as co-driver
for the 2006 APRC and together they had two top 10 event
finishes, and placed an impressive 6th overall for the
championship.
In 2007 Eli returned to Australian
rallying, competing in a number of tarmac rallies and
staging his first outright attempt at the ARC in a privateer
Group N car.
Eli showed throughout the year
he had the speed to match it with the front runners
in the ARC. He was one of the few drivers to take a
stage win off Simon Evans and even lead the coates Rally
Queensland, Great Lakes Rally before being overtaken
by Simon (who remained undefeated for the entire 2007
season).
