P-WRC CHAMPIONSHIP LEADER TO COMPETE IN mr7
31st July 2007

2005 Malaysian Rally and Production World Rally Champion (P-WRC), Toshi Arai makes a return to Malaysia in the upcoming Ancom Malaysian Rally 2007 to be held from 10-12 August in Malaysia’s southern most state of Johor.

Arai will be part of the three car MotorImage Rally Team in a Group N Impreza WRC. While not competing in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) this year, Arai is the current leader of the P-WRC, 14 points clear of his nearest rival Mark Higgins.

Glenn MacNeall, who most famously co-drove for Chris Atkinson in the Subaru World Rally Team, will be joining Arai in the navigator’s seat. This will only be their second pairing after APRC Rally Hokkaido in July this year where they were forced to retire in the first Leg. The Australian competed in nine rounds of the FIA World Rally Championship in 2001 with Arai aboard a Subaru Impreza World Rally Car.

The next round of the P-WRC championship is Rally New Zealand which will take place from 31 August to 2 Sept.

Note :
The FIA Production car World Rally Championship (P-WRC) is the showcase support championship to the pinnacle of rallying – the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC).
If WRC is the premier league of rallying, then P-WRC is the first division with drivers doing everything they can to prove their skills during a fast and furious tour around the globe.
